In September 2003 Calypso Rose sat down at her kitchen table with a sewing machine, some PVC plastic and a simple idea. What she created was the very first, very trendy ClippyKit bag. The inspiration was drawn from her desire to display the piles and piles of Polaroid photographs laying around in a new and unique way. In essence – a portable scrapbook!
While carrying the bag around, friends and strangers approached her wondering how they could get one too. Suddenly she knew she was onto something! So, with the help of a small family loan, she started production on the first line of ClippyKit bags. And the orders started to pour in. Since then Calypso has designed and created bags, umbrellas, lampshades, etc. – all of which can be personalized the ClippyKit way!
Her idea is simple: “You can put whatever you want in the pockets, photographs, fabrics, business cards, trinkets and mementoes, absolutely anything. The great thing is, nobody will have a bag the same as yours and you can change it whenever you want.”
Calypso's hard work and dedication to her products has won the the awards "Most Creative Young Brit of 2005" and the "Young Business Person of the Year 2004" as well as a host of fans throughout the land.
